Our corporate social responsibility report
For the sixth year running we have published an annual report to address our performance and activities within the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Highlights from the report include -
- Reporting for the first time using the Business in the Community (BITC) fourfold classification; workplace, community, environment and marketplace
- Reduced medical severance cost from £14.95 million to £11.16 million in the past 12 months
- A reduction in the number of bullying and harrassment cases of 12.6% from the previous year
- 43,000 of our employees regularly donate to good causes through payroll giving
- We raised £1.8 million in charitable donations in the past year
- Our target of 50% of our electricity to come from renewable sources has already been achieved with 98% acquired from certified renewable sources
- A reduction in number of days lost to accidents from 149,710 to 138,635 in the past year
